At Stress Engineering Services, we specialize in solving problems. In addition, our Fitness for Service engineering practice is committed to providing reliable solutions that are not only financially feasible and structurally sound, but help improve safety, reliability and profitability.

Serving the oil refining, petro-chemical, chemical, power generation and pipeline industries, the Fitness for Service engineering practice is comprised of technicians and engineers skilled in a variety of engineering disciplines. Our team of experts combines unmatched experience and the most effective engineering tools to solve problems in a number of plant components including FCCU’s, coke drums, pressure vessels, reactors, heaters, boilers, power generation equipment, piping, pipelines, turbines, and structures.

Through our extensive experience, commitment, and service, we’ve become experts in solving both common and complex plant problems. We have the know-how and drive to find solutions through skill, determination and the knowledge acquired through more than 30 years of experience.

Product Performance
In addition to providing third-party testing services in accordance with API, ASME and other pertinent standards, our Fitness for Service practice offers a variety of services that effectively evaluate structural performance.

Engineering Design
Working closely with your personnel, we form a multi-discipline team with the power to evaluate and build profitable products, packages, machines and processes.

Defect Severity
We use Fitness for Service techniques to evaluate low- and high-temperature defect severity to determine and extend life based on profile, geometry and material properties.

Alternating Stresses
Our engineers use strain gages and finite-element methods to determine alternating stresses in equipment. Using these field and analytical tools, we’re able to recreate the process by which mechanical damage was created.

System Integrity
By performing a Fitness for Service evaluation, we can determine system integrity and recommend ways to extend and improve equipment life with the data acquired.

Measurement and Testing
Stress Engineering offers extensive lab and field-testing capabilities, including strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, and data-acquisition systems to provide insight for use in our engineering analyses and assessments.
