Companies Align to Offer Turnkey Turnaround, Project, and Fire Damage Assessment Solutions

HOUSTON (April 1, 2016) – Stress Engineering Services (Stress), Pro-Surve Technical Services (Pro-Surve), and Calculated Controls jointly announced today the forming of a strategic alliance designed to offer refineries, chemical, petro-chemical plants, and power stations a coordinated planning-to-completion solution for turnarounds,  projects, and fire damage assessments. The value of this alliance is in providing clients engineering expertise and resources for improved planning, highly trained and experienced personnel, leading to timely answers and recommendations. This synergy will greatly decrease delays in projects and turnarounds, which will result in reduced overall costs and improved safety of operation by getting it done right the first time.

The alliance enables these companies to offer a universal planning, inspection, and engineering solutions that will accelerate the successful completion of capital projects, turnarounds, and fire damage assessments. With each company specializing in services that play key roles, they will coordinate planning and align their efforts through project completion. Calculated Controls will take the lead in project and turnaround planning and execution management while working hand-in-hand with Pro-Surve’s inspectors, NDE technicians, and mechanical integrity experts. Stress Engineering will deploy experienced engineers on site and leverage its team of subject matter experts to ensure that the alliance is capable of making even the most advanced engineering decisions as quickly as possible. In the event that a project requires construction or repairs, Stress will utilize its Engineering & Construction division to complete any necessary work.

“Our companies see the world through the eyes of our clients, which improves our offerings based on our clients’ needs. Our goal is to provide better and timelier service to our clients, so this alliance just makes sense. Each of our companies brings different but complementary services and value to turnarounds, capital projects, and fire damage assessments,” said Chris Pettitt, Chief Executive Officer of Calculated Controls.

The alliance was formed to provide critical resources needed during projects where in-house personnel might not be as experienced, may not be available, or may not exist. “Turnarounds, projects, and fire damage assessments have many moving parts and unforeseen challenges” states Bobby Wright, PE, Principal/Plant Services Practice Lead at Stress. “Budget and personnel constraints often hinder facilities from effectively addressing these challenges in an efficient and timely manner. By bringing our companies together, we are able to provide owner-users with the people, engineering capabilities, and expertise necessary for better planning and execution, which means less unplanned work and more money saved.”

“At the day’s start, clients want to communicate their mission clearly and effectively. Having one sole point of contact to discuss turnkey needs is a blessing,” said James Cesarini, PE, General Manager of Pro-Surve. “At the day’s end,” he continues, “clients want their units to start up to full rates on time, under budget, free of leaks, and without incident or injury. Aligning with skilled and experienced people whom we trust and can hold accountable will provide clients a greater opportunity of achieving these goals. With each of us in our ‘sweet spots,’ our clients can have the peace of mind that comes with knowing the right people are in the right place and doing the right things. Taking this a step further, we are able to coordinate our efforts, leverage each other’s resources and expertise, and provide assistance to one another whenever necessary.”
