Data Collection Devices

The Stress Engineering Services Measurement and Controls Division has designed several new products for collecting data in the field and in the lab.  Two of the new systems are based on the National Instruments cDAQ and PXI hardware platforms.  These platforms have been frequently used by our engineers, technicians, and our clients so adapting this platform to the always-changing computer technology is a good choice for the near future.

The SES-PXIone data collection system features a National Instruments PXI data aquisition hardware combined with the power of the StrainDAQ software and the connector ready interface for your connection to all your sensor needs.

  • High Channel count system (160ch+)
  • Fully integrated into the StrainDAQ software and can run on the latest Windows operating system
  • Connection to desktop PC or laptop
  • SES-1301 Strain Gauge connection module with 32 1/4-bridge channels/module
  • SES-1304 32 channels of Full Bridge/Voltage/Thermocouple Input s per module
PXIone Hardware

The DAQ Toolbox is a modular, portable data acquisition unit that can acquire data from nearly every sensor type.  Using the power of the National Insturments CompactDAQ platform, the DAQ Toolbox allows the user to interface with multiple sensors and makes these  connections quick and easy.  The full DAQ Toolbox package consists of a National Instruments CompactDAQ chassis, a chassis holder, a base plate, power supply and breakout boxes and interface cables.

  • Mid channel count system (< 100 channels)
  • Fully integrated into the StrainDAQ software and can run on the latest Windows operating system
  • Connection to desktop PC or laptop

MobileDAQ is intended for a smaller channel-count market.  The small size and portability of the product makes it an ideal choice to take to the field.  The systems are available in a single cell unit or a larger four cell unit.  The four cell unit is provided in a table top box or a Pelican case enclosure that can include a PC, monitor and keyboard/mouse.

Single Cell

  • Up to 16 channels
  • Various combinations of inputs (strain gages, full bridge sensors, and thermocouples)
  • USB, Ethernet, and wireless options

Four Cell

  • Approximately 64 channels
  • Various combinations of inputs (strain gages, full bridge sensors, and thermocouples)
  • USB and Ethernet options
